DeSales Catholic School presents – Newsies JR
January 30 at 7pm & January 31 at 1pm and 7pm
Newsies Jr. is a family-friendly, musical adaptation of the Disney film and Broadway show, telling the inspiring true story of New York City newsboys in 1899 who unite to strike against powerful newspaper publishers (like Pulitzer) for fair wages and better treatment, learning about teamwork, courage, and fighting for justice. Led by the charismatic Jack Kelly, the young newsies, or “newsies,” find their voices, spark a movement, and discover that even the smallest individuals can create big change with songs like “Seize the Day”.
