In 1999 a group of community minded individuals saw a need for quality live theatre in the Lockport community. In April of 1999 they formed the production company Curtain Up Productions and produced their first performance Jesus Christ Superstar, which was met with rave reviews.
For the past 23 years, Curtain Up Productions has provided Lockport, and the surroundings communities with exceptional entertainment, raising the bar with each production. Some fan favorites include, Les Miserables, Singing In The Rain, Shrek the Musical, Beauty and the Beast and Young Frankenstein.
As the in-house production company of the Palace Theatre, Curtain Up Productions performances are brought to life by an extraordinary production team, phenomenal live orchestra and exceptional local talents.

Sister Act tells the story of Deloris Van Cartier, a disco diva who, after witnessing a crime, is placed in protective custody in a convent. To keep her safe and undercover, Deloris takes on the guise of a nun and discovers a world quite different from her glamorous lifestyle. As she transforms the convent’s struggling choir into a sensational ensemble, the musical explores themes of friendship, redemption, and the power of music.
