In 1999 a group of community minded individuals saw a need for quality live theatre in the Lockport community. In April of 1999 they formed the production company Curtain Up Productions and produced their first performance Jesus Christ Superstar, which was met with rave reviews.
For the past 23 years, Curtain Up Productions has provided Lockport, and the surroundings communities with exceptional entertainment, raising the bar with each production. Some fan favorites include, Les Miserables, Singing In The Rain, Shrek the Musical, Beauty and the Beast and Young Frankenstein.
As the in-house production company of the Palace Theatre, Curtain Up Productions performances are brought to life by an extraordinary production team, phenomenal live orchestra and exceptional local talents.

The musical “9 to 5” tells the story of three female coworkers, Violet, Doralee, and Judy, who are fed up with their sexist and egotistical boss, Franklin Hart, Jr., at Consolidated Industries. They conspire to take control of the office, initially fantasizing about getting rid of Hart, which eventually leads to a comical and empowering reality where they manage the company effectively.
