From first steps on stage to standing ovations, Palace Theatre School gives young performers a place to learn, create, build confidence, and discover the magic of live theatre.
From first steps on stage to standing ovations, Palace Theatre School gives young performers a place to learn, create, build confidence, and discover the magic of live theatre.
At Palace Theatre School, students learn far more than lines, songs, and choreography. Through hands-on theatre education, young performers develop confidence, creativity, communication skills, and friendships—all while learning from experienced instructors in a real working theatre.
Whether your child dreams of the spotlight or simply wants to try something new, there’s a place for them here.
AGE GROUPS
Theatre School offers sessions for Kindergarten–2nd Grade and 3rd–8th Grade, with programming designed specifically for each age group.
SCHEDULE
Theatre School runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM, with days filled with learning, rehearsing, creating, and plenty of fun!
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY
No theatre experience is required! We welcome everyone from first-time performers to experienced young actors and help each student build skills, confidence, and discover their inner performer.
WHAT TO BRING
Students should bring a bagged lunch and water bottle Monday–Thursday. On Friday, leave the lunch at home — we celebrate with a pizza party!
WHAT TO WEAR
Think gym class, but for theatre! Comfortable clothing that allows students to move freely is perfect. No special dance shoes or theatre attire are required.
MORE THAN PERFORMING
Not every theatre kid wants the spotlight! Students explore different areas of theatre, from acting, singing, and dancing to technical and backstage experiences, helping each child discover where they belong.
WHAT THEY’LL LEARN
Students explore acting, singing, dancing, movement, stage presence, and live performance while developing confidence, creativity, teamwork, public speaking skills, and tools to overcome stage fright.
SKILLS BEYOND THE PALACE
The skills learned at Theatre School can help students prepare for auditions, school shows, community productions, and future performing opportunities.
ON THE PALACE STAGE
The entire experience happens inside the historic Palace Theatre! Students have the unique opportunity to learn, rehearse, and perform on a real working theatre stage.
FINAL PERFORMANCE
Every Theatre School session ends with a final performance! The style and length vary depending on the session, age group, and program length.
TUITION
Tuition varies depending on the age group and length of each session. Current pricing is provided with the registration information for each program.
ATTENDANCE
We understand that life happens, and missing an occasional day is no problem. Because students learn new material each day, frequent absences may cause them to fall behind. If you know your child will miss several days, another session may be a better fit.

SPONSOR A STUDENT
Individuals, families, organizations, and businesses can sponsor a student’s Theatre School tuition, giving a young person the opportunity to experience the performing arts at the Palace.
Check out our Sponsorship page for more information on this incredible way of giving back!
For some aspiring performers, the only thing standing between them and the stage is the cost of tuition. A Tuition Sponsorship helps make Palace Theatre camps accessible to young performers who are ready to learn, create, build confidence, and shine.
With camps offered this season and tuition ranging from $200–$500, your contribution can help give a young performer an experience they’ll never forget.
Every gift helps put a dream within reach.
Become part of the community that keeps the Palace thriving. Your sponsorship supports live entertainment, arts programming, and the preservation of one of Lockport’s most treasured landmarks.
