Meet The Cast

  • Matilda- Danielle Horton

    Danielle is thrilled to make her Palace debut in this dream role! She has performed in youth theatre productions of Annie (Annie), Frozen (Young Elsa), Alice in Wonderland, and Willy Wonka. She has also been seen as ZuZu in It’s a Wonderful Life with the Springville Center for the Arts and will next appear as Marta in Lancaster Opera House’s upcoming production of The Sound of Music. Off the stage, Danielle catches for her travel softball team and will soon test to become a Tae Kwon Do black belt. She thanks her family, cast, and crew for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

  • Alexandra Nowak- Miss Honey

    Alex is so grateful to have the opportunity to be in this production and play the role of a lifetime that is Miss Honey. She graduated from Marymount Manhattan College in 2020 with a BA in Theatre Performance and business management. She would like to thank her family and boyfriend for their endless support as well as the cast and crew for making Matilda an unforgettable experience. Alex was most recently seen in 42nd Street (ensemble) at the Palace Theatre and other credits include Grease at Marymount Manhattan College (Rizzo) and a workshop production of the new musical Birds & Bats with Sidekick Productions.

  • Kyle Beiter- Miss Trunchbull

    Kyle thoroughly enjoys playing the villain in shows. This is also his first time playing a woman, albeit Trunchbull is not the most feminine - she is proud of her powerful prowess. Trunchbull is also more than a fun, mischievous villain, she is a horrible bully. In life you always have a choice, be kind or be the bully. Don’t be like Trunchbull - always choose kindness! Some of Kyle’s favorite portrayals include Captain Hook in Peter Pan, Daddy Warbucks in Annie, Mr. Banks in Mary Poppins and most recently as Julian Marsh in 42 nd Street here at the Palace. Kyle would like to thank the entire cast, crew and production team for their hard work and dedication putting this together. He also thanks his family (Krista, Drew, and Emily) for their ongoing support.

  • Jason Mussachio- Mr. Wormwood

    Jason is ecstatic to join this amazing cast in finally bringing Matilda to the Palace’s stage. Throughout rehearsals, Jason has had the rare pleasure of reveling in the talents of his daughter Amelia (Lavender) and his wife Katie as they sparkle on and off stage. Together, they also own Bonjour Crepes, a block East of the Palace. Though Jason is a passionate online educator during the day, you may have seen him in Curtain Up’s recent productions of “Young Frankenstein,“ "Joseph…” and “42nd Street.”

  • Taylor Carlson- Mrs. Wormwood

    Taylor is elated to return to the Palace stage! Previous Palace credits: Pippin (Leading Player), Young Frankenstein (Elizabeth Benning), Stepping Out (Mavis), Joseph… (Narrator), Into the Woods (Witch), The Little Mermaid (Ursula), Guys & Dolls (Sarah Brown), and Les Misérables (Eponine). MusicalFare credits: Ragtime, Violet, Evita (Eva’s sister/ensemble), How to Succeed… (Dance captain/ensemble), and the Artie-award-winning production of In the Heights (Bolero singer/ensemble). Other credits: The Drowsy Chaperone (The Drowsy Chaperone), Urinetown (Penelope Pennywise), and I Never Saw Another Butterfly (Raja Englanderova). Taylor would like to thank everyone involved, as well as her friends and family for their unwavering love and support.

  • Joe Greenan-Michael Wormwood & Doctor

    oe Greenan (Michael Wormwood/Doctor) is thrilled to be making his Palace Theatre debut!! Joe was recently seen in New Hampshire, where he was a part of Peterborough Players’ productions of The Emperor’s New Clothes as The Swindler, and Cabaret as an ensemble member. In Buffalo, Joe has been seen in the Artie Award winning production of Beauty and The Beast. Some favorite credits include: John Hinckley Jr. in Assassins, Mitch Mahoney in The 25th…Spelling Bee, and Jesus in Godspell. He would love to thank the entire Matilda team for such a fun time, and his parents for their support!!

  • Amelia Mussachio- Lavender

    Amelia is ecstatic to finally be performing in the Palace’s production of Matilda! She is in 8th grade and enjoys being on the Matt’s Music Vocal Performance Team and participating with the Palace Performing Arts School. Some of her other favorite roles have been: Olaf in Frozen, Brooke in Legally Blonde, Lily in Annie, and Scarecrow in Wizard of Oz. Amelia thanks her Gramma, Papa, Julie, Mom, and Dad for being her biggest fans.

  • Carter Maier- Bruce

    Carter is super excited to play Bruce in the Palace’s production of Matilda. Carter has been in multiple musicals. Those musicals include, Princess and the Pea, Wizard of Oz, Pippin, and Scrooge. Carter would like to thank his humongous family for all of the support especially to his mom for driving him wherever he has to be.

  • Julianne Masocco- Mrs. Phelps

    Julianne is excited to make her debut at the Palace as Ms. Phelps with such a wonderful cast and crew! She is has performed in local bands and numerous theatre productions. Some of her previous credits include, "Children of Eden" (Mama), "Smokey Joe's Cafe" (BJ), "Annie" (Grace Farrell), "Same Time Next Year" (Doris) and "Chicago" (Annie). Julianne would like to thank God, her fiancé Jeremy, and her family and friends for their love and support.

  • Ryan Butler- Escapologist

    Ryan is thrilled to be in his fourth show at the Palace. Previously he appeared in Joseph... Dreamcoat (Gad), 42nd Street (Mac/Ensemble), and most recently Pippin (Player/Head). Other shows include Newsies (Jack) in which he won the Kenny award for Outstanding Leading Actor in a Male Role, Pete the Cat (Jimmy), and A Chorus Line (Tom). Ryan would like to thank his family and everyone involved in the show for making it a fun one.

  • Ella Kroening- Acrobat

    Ella is delighted to be returning to the beautiful Palace stage for Matilda. She recently graduated from Marymount Manhattan College with a BFA in Musical Theatre. Ella is a Lockport native and ecstatic to be back in her hometown performing. Some of her favorite credits include Grease (Sandy), Damn Yankees (Lola), and Singing In the Rain (Ensemble). She owes everything to her parents and wouldn't be here today without their constant love and support.

  • Oliver Ball- Rudolpho

    Oliver Ball (they/them) is excited to be apart of one of the shows that made them want to pursue musical theatre as a career! While they dreamed of playing Matilda at age 11, Oliver is a recent graduate of AMDA NY as a Musical Theatre major. Recent credits include: Joseph…Dreamcoat (Joseph), Pippin (Ensemble), Dog Sees God (CB), Heathers: The Musical (Ram Sweeney), and Head Over Heels (Ensemble).     Taylor is beyond excited to be performing in her first musical production at The Palace! Taylor has received her training from Celebrity Dance Emporium, Williamsville Performing Arts Studio and LIFT School of Music. Some productions she has been in include Newsies Jr, Annie Kids and The Wishing Tree. She would like to thank her parents for supporting her passion and her directors and fellow cast members for the love and support!

  • Quinn Schmidt- Eric

    Quinn is extremely honored to being able to be in this production for a second time. Quinn plays the role of Eric (one of Matilda’s classmates). Precious musicals Quinn has been in is Beauty and the Beast jr, Little Mermaid jr, Scrooge the Musical (three times), The Grunch, Seussical jr, Suessical, and Descendants the Musical. Quinn also enjoys playing tennis with his dad, and cooking with his mom. He also hopes that you enjoy the show

  • Ayden McNeight- Nigel

    Ayden McNeight is thrilled to be performing in the production of Matilda as Nigel. Ayden has participated in other musicals too, such as Willy Wonka (Charlie), The Wizard of Oz (Scarecrow), and his school's current production Descendants The Musical (Jay). Ayden thanks his close friends for always helping him out and supporting him, and his family for helping him with his crazy schedule and for being there for him.

  • Macy Gabel- Hortensia

    Macy is a student at The Academy of Theater Arts and a member of the Matt’s Music Vocal Performance Team. Her favorite credits include The Wizard of Oz (Dorothy) and Shrek Jr. (Fionna). In 2019, she had the great honor of performing as a soloist at Carnegie Hall and this year was the first place winner of The Voicebox Competition and Amherst Teen Idol. Macy is currently a recording artist with SoundMasters Records in Lockport.

  • Cameron Gilson- Tommy

    Cameron is excited to join the cast of Matilda as "Tommy". He has participated in several theater productions including Seussical Jr, Scrooge the Musical, and Frozen Jr through the Palace Theater. He is currently a sophomore at Newfane High School and is on the Cross Country and Track and Field Teams, as well as the School Senate. Cameron is also working towards his private pilot’s license. Cameron is proud to be part of this wonderful production!

  • Piper Gabel- Alice

    Piper is excited to be in Matilda with her three sisters! Her favorite role was Annie at the ATA Performing Arts Center last spring. This December, she and her sisters will be opening for the Rockettes Christmas Show at Radio City Music Hall in NYC with the Starkidz Chorus. She takes voice and accordion lessons at Matt’s Music and is a spokesperson for Wings Flights of Hope. Piper also works hard to raise dwarfism awareness.

  • Xeni Anastasopoulos - Ensemble

    Xeni Anastasopoulos has trained intensively at Academy Theater Arts. Recent credits include: Damn Yankees (Kid Fan), O’Connell & Company; Wizard of Oz (Dorothy) and Mamma Mia! (Donna) at ATA. Xeni plays premier soccer, tap dances, and studies voice at Matt’s Music. She’s thrilled to work with the Palace Theater!

  • Sophia Bastian - Ensemble

    Sophia is thrilled to be making her Curtain Up Productions debut. Previously, she was in Into The Woods. Sophia is likes all forms of art, she is a member of a vocal performance team.

  • Ella Brehm- Ensemble

    Ella is thrilled to be performing on the Palace stage! She’s in her 8th year of dance and musical theatre training at Walh Performing Arts Studios. She’d like to thank the cast and crew for this fantastic experience and to her grandparents and mom for their endless love and support!

  • Alexis Cueva- Ensemble

    Alexis is excited for their Palace debut! Recent credits: A Streetcar Named Desire (Eunice), I Hate Hamlet (Felicia), Almost, Maine (Marvalyn/Ginette), Pirates of Yuletide with ACME Mystery Co.   • Cassandra Elkin- Ensemble

    Cassandra is a recent graduate of the University at Buffalo and is thrilled to be involved in The Historic Palace Theatre’s production of Matilda. Her recent credits include Yvette (Mother Courage and Her Children), Death (Everybody), and General Cartwright (Guys and Dolls). She wants to thank her friends and family for their constant support. @cassandra.elkin

  • Ashlyn Gabel- Ensemble

    Ashlyn is a member of the Matt’s Music Vocal Performance Team and attends The Academy of Theater Arts. Her credits include Frozen Jr. (Elsa) Suessical Jr. (Gertrude) and The Little Mermaid (Ursula). In 2020 she made her film debut in Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin (Paramount Pictures) singing in German.

  • Grace Gabel- Ensemble

    Grace attends the Academy of Theater Arts where her favorite performances include The Little Mermaid (Ariel) and Peter Pan (Peter Pan). She is a member of the Matt’s Music Vocal Performance Team and studies with Gionna Mariano. Her film credits include Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin (Paramount Pictures) and Cabrini.

  • Brianna Gelnett- Ensemble

    Brianna Gelnett is a 2022 graduate from Point Park University with a Bachelor’s in the Fine Arts in Dance. She enjoys her time spent at the Palace and the magical shows she’s had the privilege of being a part of. She credits her accomplishments thus far to her parents, Tim and Michele Gelnett.

  • Emma Gillies- Ensemble

    Emma is thrilled to return to the amazing Historic Lockport Palace Theatre. Past Palace stage performances include the Curtain Up holiday favorite Scrooge The Musical and many Missoula Children's Theatre musicals. She would like to congratulate all involved with this long-awaited genius production!

  • Sydney McHugh- Ensemble

    Sydney is so thankful for the opportunity to be part of Matilda! Her passion is theater and past credits include Princess and the Pea, Shrek, Jr., Marry Poppins, Aladdin, and Peter Pan. THANK YOU to her family, friends, Mr. B, MMDS and CMA716 for their love and support!

    Eva is excited to be on stage for Matilda! She has been in Annie Jr (Grace), Frozen Jr (Anna), Seussical Jr (JoJo), and she’ll be in Descendants (Mal) this fall. She is also a member of Matt's Music Vocal Performance Team. Eva thanks her family for continued love and support.

  • Audrianna Yates- Ensemble

    Audrianna is so excited to be back on the stage with Lockport Palace Theater. You may have seen her in Pippin(Ensemble). Some of her favorite role include Eva Peron(Evita), Mary Magdalene (Jesus Christ Superstar), Patty (Smokey Joe’s Café), Erma (Anything Goes), Rabbit (Winnie the Pooh) Maggie (Den of Thieves), Eponine (Les Miserables). She also spent 9 seasons working for the entertainment department for SeaWorld Busch Gardens. Audrianna currently teaches dance at Jaclyn Carols Dance Academy and is a Director for the Niagara Experience Players. She would like to thank her parents and her son Cory for all of their love and support!

  • Jimmy Moses- Director

    Jimmy is thrilled to be making is Palace debut as director for Matilda The Musical! He is currently the International Baccalaureate Coordinator at City Honors School where he teaches. Selected previous directing credits include Gypsy, The Drowsy Chaperone, Grease, Anything Goes, Mamma Mia, and Matilda. In addition to teaching, Jimmy is a celebrated Medium that works extensively with the Broadway community. His podcast, Stage Door Medium, is available on both Apple podcasts and Spotify podcasts.   • Eric Deeb-Weaver- Choreographer

    Eric is thrilled to be choreographing this genius production. Many patrons experienced Eric’s choreography in Curtain Up Production's magical show Pippin & this summer's smash hit 42nd Street! Eric is a CA native and is a proud member of Actor's Equity Association. Favorite performing credits include: Young Frankenstein (Natl Tour), 42nd Street (Boebe Productions), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Riverside Theatre, Moonlight Theatre, Musical Theatre West), Funny Girl (Riverside Theatre), The Drowsy Chaperone (The Gallery Players), Kiss Me Kate (Westchester Broadway Theater). Eric is the Associate Artistic Director here at the Palace Theatre and gives many thanks to Chris, Jimmy, Ellen, Lizzie, Maddy, Kim, and Zach. Much love to his family, friends, and especially to Michael for continually loving and supporting him through this new venture, and for taking extra special care of their two pups Koko and Polly!

  • Zachary Carr- Vocal Director

    Zach Carr, Ph.D., is thrilled to be returning to the Historic Palace Theatre as co-vocal director alongside the incomparable Kim Potfora! Zach's previous vocal directing credits include Bye, Bye, Birdie!, Shrek, Cinderella, Joseph… 42nd Street & Footloose! Zach is the Vocal Director at Matt's Music, Inc. where he oversees the largest vocal program in WNY while also engaging in private vocal instruction. Aside from his musical endeavors, Zach is also a Clinical Assistant Professor (Department of Communication) at the University at Buffalo, SUNY and gives talks regularly on his research regarding nonverbal communication and audience engagement. Zach would like to thank Chris, Ellen, and the entire cast and crew for making this another wonderful theatre experience. Lastly, Zach would like to thank you all for supporting live theatre and the arts. We hope you enjoy Matilda!

  • Kim Potfora - Vocal Director

    Kim is so excited to be vocal directing at the Palace Theatre! Kim is a senior vocal instructor at Matt's Music and a head coach on the Matt's Music Vocal Performance Team. She is proficient in all musical genres but specializes in contemporary theatre, traditional theatre, pop and jazz. Her students have performed at Carnegie Hall, in various collegiate theater programs, and countless other events and competitions in the WNY area. Kim also performs at different local venues and was previously the Music Director of University at Buffalo's all-female acapella group, "The Royal Pitches." Much love to this amazing cast and crew!

  • David Stacey- Music Director

    David, a retired public-school music educator and fan of all things Broadway, has conducted or been involved with scores of shows. He resides in Medina with his wife Trisha (aka Berthe), is dad to Erin (Dr. Rick), Brendan (Emily) and Regan (Nolan), and is OomPapa to Kenley, Ian, Jack, Lauryn and Liam. He works as a Pharmacy Technician at the Medina Medicine Shoppe (with Dr. Rick), and enjoys family and travel. Special thanks to Trisha for her support and the amazingly multi-talented friends in the pit. Ellen and Chris, thank you for the continued blessing of making music at this beautiful theater.   • Maddy Long- Assistant Choreographer

    Maddy is absolutely ecstatic to be given the opportunity to assistant choreograph this iconic musical alongside the incredibly talented Eric Deeb Weaver. At the Palace, she has proudly choreographed Young Frankenstein, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Scrooge the Musical! Maddy has also been in a multitude of productions at the Palace, including Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast, and Billy Elliot. Maddy was also the dance captain in the Palace production of Footloose & Assistant Choreographer of 42nd Street. Most recently, Maddy graduated from Niagara University with a bachelor’s degree in Math and Special Education and will be starting her career at Aaron Mossell JR High School this fall. Lastly, Maddy would like to thank Chris Parada, Eric Deeb Weaver, Ellen Schratz, and the incredible cast for this amazing experience!

  • Jordan Stover- Costume Designer

    Jordan Stover is grateful to be back at the Palace! Jordan is a graduate from BSC where she earned a BA in Fashion Design through the Muriel A. Howard Honors Program. She has won awards from the ITAA and the ASG for previous fashion collections. In addition to a national feature in Notions Magazine, Jordan worked in London, England with Zandra Rhodes in 2019. Jordan’s previous costume credits include Pippin, 42nd Street, Young Frankenstein (Palace Theatre), Dogfight (Bellissima Productions), La Boheme (NACC), Into the Woods and Hello Dolly! (LHS). She would like to thank her friends, family and the Palace for their continued support!

  • Derek Heckler- Lighting Designer

    Derek is grateful to be bringing the magic of light to Matilda, his 6th show with CUP at the Palace. Previous CUP credits include Pippin, 42nd Street, Joseph & The Technicolor Dreamcoat, Footloose, and Singin’ In The Rain. Derek earned his BFA in Lighting Design & Technology in 2009 from the Conservatory of Theatre Arts & Film at SUNY Purchase College. He has since worked on a multitude of productions in different areas in the entertainment industry. Some highlights include television lighting for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? At ABC Studios in NYC; How The Grinch Stole Christmas: The Musical National Tour; as well as work on the recent Niagara Falls Illumination Project. Derek currently serves as the full-time Design Specialist at the Riviera Theatre in North Tonawanda where he lights over 100 live music events a year.
